Overview

A High Quality Vandal Resistant IR Night Vision Dome CCTV Camera with up to 15 metres night vision and an adjustable Varifocal IR Optimised Aspherical Lens for easy selection of any viewing angle between 35 and 85° during installation. The CCTV Camera is designed for non-obtrusive or discreet use in high risk applications where high quality surveillance is required, and is Vandal Resistant allowing it to withstand a blow from a 10 pound sledgehammer and making it suitable for use where there is a risk that the camera may be vandalised. It is designed for internal or external use and can be wall or ceiling mounted.

Features

Ideal for high risk applications, the camera is built around a Sony 1/3" Super HAD CCD image sensor which provides recognition quality and basic identification quality images
The camera features built in IR (Infra Red) LEDs, these allow the camera to see in low light or complete darkness up to 15 metres. The camera shows Colour images in good lighting conditions and then switches to B/W images in low light or complete darkness, when in this mode the camera can see the light produced by the IR LEDs and provide good quality images as if it was daylight, however to the human eye the light emitted from the IR LEDs remains invisible!

The camera is able to produce 480/540 TVL images. These are equivalent to Near DVD quality and suitable for recording at 704x576 (4CIF) or 720x576 (D1) resolutions.

The camera will operate in complete darkness (0 lux) up to a distance of 15 metres thanks to its built in IR LEDs, beyond 15 metres the camera will operate in any environment that has a light level above 0.1 lux. Examples of environments that have a light level above 0.1 lux are:
Dawn and Dusk
A Residential Road with Street Lighting
A Bar or Nightclub

The camera is fitted with a 3.5 to 8.0mm varifocal IR optimised aspherical lens. The camera has an adjustable horizontal viewing angle of 35 to 85° when used with this lens.

The camera features an Xvision IXC1DN DSP (Digital Signal Processing) chip which offers the following functions to increase the image sensors performance:

Automatic Electronic Iris - This feature automatically adjusts the brightness of the camera image to match the amount of available light.

Automatic White Balance - This feature automatically adjusts the colour temperature of the camera image to match the type of light available, so that white and other colours appear as natural as possible.

Automatic Gain Control - This feature automatically increases the video output level of the camera in low light conditions. This has the effect of making the picture brighter (however it may also add more noise to the picture, as it is amplifying all aspects of the video signal)

Low Smear - This feature helps to balance out the camera image when some areas of it may be looking at very bright or reflective objects.

Edge Enhancement - This feature sharpens the edges of objects and people in the camera image making the picture sharper and the resolution higher.

Day/Night - This feature works in conjunction with a special filter on the image sensor, the filter on the image sensor allows the camera to see light emitted from IR LEDs as white light, allowing the camera to see in low light and complete darkness without actually visibly (to human eyes) lighting up the area. The Day/Night function then converts this image to B/W so it can be seen clearly and also balances out the picture so that the picture is not too bright.

The camera is Vandal Resistant and Dome shaped and is ideal for non-obtrusive or discreet use inside and outside buildings.

The camera is tamper resistant as it has a dome cover to protect it from tampering and is also Vandal Resistant as the base is made from high strength metal and the dome is made from impact resistant polycarbonate, giving the camera the ability to withstand a blow from a 10 pound sledgehammer.

The camera is weather resistant and can be used internally or externally.

The camera features a unique 3 Axis bracket allowing it to be wall or ceiling mounted.

An optional wall bracket is available which allows the cameras to be angled at over 90° when on a wall, something that cannot be done using a domes standard 3 axis mechanism.

The camera is supplied with a 2 Year Warranty (1 Year for LEDs).
